THE LIAR'S DIARY by Patry Francis is out in paperback today.

I'm pleased to be joining more than three hundred novelists, publishers, agents and bloggers to help spread the word about a novel Booklist called "a disturbing portrait of a hollow family done in by secrets and lies" while its author recovers from an aggressive form of cancer.
I'm pleased, because writers don't always behave like we're part of a community. It's all us vs. them, genre vs. literature, boys against girls, Young Turks taking on Old Heads, Lee Siegel taking on the Internets (and certainly, I've been as guilty of this as anyone else).
The truth is, we're all in this together, at least a little bit; trying to tell the story we think needs telling, to get it down on the page, however imperfectly, and peddle it in a world where most people would rather pick up a remote control than a book.
