The Philadelphia Event!

Finally, the details on a very special pre-opening night screening of the movie IN HER SHOES.

Please join me at the Bridge Cinema DeLux at 40th and Walnut Street on Thursday, October 6 at 6:30 p.m. to see the film based on my novel, which stars Cameron Diaz, Toni Collette, Shirley MacLaine, Mark Feuerstein and features basically everyone in my immediate family.

Because literacy and the love of reading are such important parts of both the book and the film, the evening will benefit the Free Library of Philadelphia. We are asking guests to purchase tickets to the afterparty, which will feature food from the Jamaican Jerk Hut, music by Sons of Ace (both featured in the film), wine from Beringer Blass Wine Estates, a signed copy of the book IN HER SHOES, and a raffle of prizes from many of the Center City businesses which appear in the movie. A fifty dollar donation will get you into the party, a signed book, five raffle tickets, food, wine, and a chance to do something great for a very worthy cause.

So bring your wife or your sister or your mom. Be one of the first to see the film already being hailed as "one of the best in years" (and be the first to know exactly where my Nanna shows up).

To RSVP, call the library at 215-567-7710. Tickets are first come, first serve (and the Bridge validates parking at the lot right across the street). Hope to see you there!
